Statement of Faith

Assemblies of God International affirms the following core doctrines:

  1. The Scriptures — The Bible is the inspired and infallible Word of God, the sole and final authority for all matters of faith and conduct.
  2. The One True God — There is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
  3. The Lord Jesus Christ — His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, substitutionary and atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension, and personal return.
  4. Salvation — Salvation is by grace through faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross; the new birth is essential.
  5. Water Baptism — Believers are to be baptized by immersion in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit as a public declaration of faith.
  6. The Lord’s Supper — Observed in remembrance of Christ’s death and in anticipation of His return.
  7. Baptism in the Holy Spirit — The baptism in the Holy Spirit, subsequent to the new birth, with the initial physical evidence of speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance (Acts 2:4).
  8. Sanctification — A life of holiness and separation from sin through the power of the Holy Spirit.
  9. Divine Healing — Provided in the atonement and available to all believers.
  10. The Church and Its Mission — The Church is the Body of Christ called to evangelize the lost, worship God, disciple believers, and demonstrate compassion.
  11. The Blessed Hope — The resurrection of those who have fallen asleep in Christ and the translation of those who are alive at His coming.
  12. The Final Judgment — The unrighteous will be judged and consigned to everlasting punishment; the righteous will enjoy eternal life with God.
